opting out (or my last Mother's Day post) 05/12/2017 It was nearly a month before Mother’s Day last year, and the email, radio and TV ads combined with Facebook feeds and everyday conversations, had begun to consume my social spaces. Rather than writing a rebuttal or even a loving message to those of us who experience the angst of this day each year, I chose to begin opting out. I unsubscribed to every business who sent me unwanted advertising, I unfollowed pages and people, and I used Facebook less and even went online less for those weeks.
